<lj:music>WRONG SCALE - p.s. moved out (in head)</lj:music>

New Survivor: Yes, they divided the teams by race. No, this isn't really any worse than when they divided teams by age/gender/etc, and even the people on said teams are making racial jokes so get your hands out of your pants nublets.

"Predator Locations": I'm really sick of hearing news about convicted predators living near schools, or playgrounds or whatever. Even if we assume that their time in jail didn't cure them and they are still serial whateverers, why does it matter where they live?! It's not like these people don't have cars  There's like a new story about this every week... it's purely sensationalist fearmongering.

A Violent Society: Is there really any evidence society is becoming more violent? I'm thinking back to the cavepeople days here and I'm thinking, "no." If there is it's all drugs' fault anyways, not some slipping of moral values.

The Child Abuser: I saw this infi ridiculous thing on ACA a while ago and was just reminded of it recently. There was some woman who wanted to make pictures of children crying, supposedly to show how children would feel if they knew the state of the world (hi, I'm another wanky artist). Anyways, to get the children to cry she would give them a lolipop, and then take the lolipop away, taking pictures of the children's reactions. And this was labelled child abuse! A FREAKIN LOLIPOP!
It's not like the kid would even care 5 minutes later (in fact it's a solid bet they got the lolipop back after the photo shoot was done anyway.) And ACA is interviewing people saying things like "the lolipop was given in trust." Yeah, because a three year old is crying because their trust of some random stranger with a camera has been violated . Ugh.

The Infinite Curry: Some big guy gets "blacklisted" from the curry buffet at some Indian store, because he ate too much. Now these Indian dudes clearly aren't angels, because they do tell the camera that they never said he ate too much (and then get caught on hidden camera saying exactly that), but the entire story was misrepresentitive. First, the big guy is complaining that he was discriminated because of his body (NO, he was allegedly discriminated against because of his appetite). Secondly, the restaurant didn't appear to have "blacklisted" him at all. THEY REMOVED THE UNLIMITED CURRY FOR $9.95 DEAL ALTOGETHER! This was briefly mentioned by the story itself, and is further corroborated by the fact that you get to see people eating at the restaurant but never get to see the buffet itself (it no longer exists). Screw you, ACA.

And yet I cant stop watching T_T

The "Steve Irwin Tribute Movie" was nothing but "Steve Irwin: Collision Course" with a different name. I found it quite amusing that they found the real title too embarassing to actually tell it to the public. Shameful the way they tried to trick viewers into watching it by calling it a tribute.

Today Tonight (or was it A Current Afair) is doing yet another piece on teenage gangs. Only specifically targeting Asian gangs, as if there's any difference between Asian gangs and any others. Blatant, despicable hatemongering.

"Thank You For Smoking" is labelled by many as a good movie, but you will like it only if you idolise people who have confidence or are a sheep with little individuality. I cant explain why, but that's the feeling I get. It has its moments, but I found it overall kinda boring.

Peace out.

Yay, work is going slow. Good that I'm doing some though. Had a sudden urge to update this so I am.

- I'm going to read "Streetcar Named Desire" for my tutoring student, he has an assignment on it. Should be interesting after seeing the Simpsons episode where Marge and Ned play lead roles in it.

- I read on some feminist website that wars are caused by the misogynist tendencies of men. No, not the destructive nature, or aggressive/violent nature, specifically their hatred of women. Good one, guys ^^

"A person can best avoid colds by avoiding those who are ill and the objects that they touch, as well as by keeping their immune system in top form by getting enough sleep, reducing stress, eating nutritious foods, and avoiding excess alcohol consumption."

He he he he he he he. I'm still blaming the tutoring student.

From "common cold" wiki. Site also says cold temperatures have not been shown to have an effect, as the disease is viral, except for one recent study involving people putting their feet in cold water o.0

Taken from "The Bug" free newspaper...

WARNE IN FRESH SEX ROMP SCANDAL

Shane Warne has become emboriled in yet another sex scandal - this time involving two slags put up by a tacky tabloid to trick the Aussie legend into the cot.
The champion legspinner and world wicket record holder admitted last night that the two stunners had propositioned him at a London pub earlier this week.
"They were pretty keen to get me back to their flat for a threesome, and some of the stuff they said they wanted to do to me - I mean, deadset, it made me blush. But I said, 'No'. I was totally knackered after putting in a big day for my county side. I just needed a good night's rest."
But drinkers at the same UK pub reacted angrily when The Bug's London bureau told them the news of Warnie's double knockback.
"The bloke's single, he's entitled and he knocks back a threesome sex romp with a couple of stunners, which is every red-blooded male's dream. It's a scandal," was one typical response.

"One of my personal theories is the theory of infinity and how it applies to light. (This gets a bit thick)

Firstly, I thought of the hyperbola, with the graph extending to the two infinities along each of the two asymptotes. Now if you take a rotated rectangular hyperbola so that the asymptotes lie on the X and Y axes, you get an equation along the lines of Y = K / X, where K is a constant.

This equation should be smooth and continuous based purely on the observation that y = f(x), where f(x) is the sum of terms that consist of k1 * x^k2, where k1 and k2 represent a range of different constants. This is not the case though, since X cannot equal 0. What I proposed was that the graph joins up at positive and negative infinity, and that therefore positive and negative infinity are the same. Since infinity is the reciprocal of 0, which has no sign, it stands to reason that infinity also has no sign.

With this in mind, the speed of light has always been unobtainable, due to the increasing force required to increase the speed of the object. When extrapolated, it has been theorised that an infinite force is required to push an object to the speed of light. I would then hazard a guess (with my little knowledge) that the speed of light is the definition of infinity in our universe in terms of velocity. While speeds greater than the speed of light are possible to put down on paper, infinity is, in reality, much closer.

Enter my theory. If you manage to push past the speed of light (infinity), then it will be travelling backwards at the same speed (negative infinity). If you travel close the speed of light, you may find there is a component of your motion (I'm really just guessing) going backwards faster than the speed of light which is inversely proportional to the forward velocity."

Wow, that really is an awesome theory 9.9
PS doesn't the theory say polynomials are only continuous everywhere for positive powers? Oops...
